Happy May! As I sit here at my computer, there's a little bunny out there munching on the grass.
It's a good thing bunnies have fur because it's only 45 degrees out there. Not exactly fair weather to dance around your May Pole! Oh well, I still got my bike out last week and will ride it again today. I'm going to try some interval training on it too! That's short bursts of going fast and slowing down, then repeating. I also need to figure out my fit bit for biking. I went to a pot luck supper last night and had some pie, so I need to work it off. Hopefully you all enjoyed the weather this weekend because it's going to be an on/ off week. Enjoy and keep on moving!

SPRING IS HERE!!
Sp!ring is here and Easter is hopping near! Time to get off your KEASTER!
We are into spring cleaning and getting rid of spare stuff. It's time to dust off your exercise
routine and make it sparkle and gleem , like Amy of Sparkle Edge Cleaning.
Add some power moves which are really cool and some circuit weight training. Three sets of twenty
to make you look spunky!
So who do you know who is in the same old boring treadmill while reading a novel routine.
I can add some power moves and make them look keen!
Thanks! Mary Anns Exercise Where Balance is the Challenge!

GIVING UP SUGAR
Yet another tweak to my diet and exercise program. I am trying to avoid sugar. I started on Ash Wednesday. It's not entirely a fast for lent, but it is a good place to start! I know that sugar is in lots of food, but I've eliminated the sweets and goodies. I said no to a piece of birthday cake yesterday and have ignored chocolate several times, which is very tough especially in the afternoon around 3.
What else goes great with coffee? I am having protein for breakfast and a tablespoon of coconut oil
in my first morning cup of coffee. This combined with my jog/walking for 2 miles 3 times a week and aerobics twice a week should make a difference. I'm feeling better in my clothes, so that's a good sign! Keep on trying out there and if you need an aerobics class, come see me at Harwich community Center on Tuesdays at 8:30 and Thursdays at 9:30.

PATRIOTS DAY
Recently, my husband and I saw the movie " Patriots Day" about the Marathon Bombing. Although very brutal and emotional to watch, it really showed how strong the human spirit can be, and how people can work together to fight adversity. The victims who lost limbs never gave up and some came back to run the marathon again!
That's the spirit I want to address today. Anyone who is a care giver, like me, knows the stress it can put you under and sometimes we need help to overcome our personal adversities. I can help with exercise. So contact me at 774-994-0061.

RESOLUTIONS!
So, how are your resolutions going? I got on the scale and found out I was exactly the same. WHAT A BUMMER! At least I didn't gain any weight! I know I have to rev-up my workouts. So today I started a walk-jogging routine. I walked briskly for 100 steps and jogged for 150 and I alternated this for 2 miles. This is ,of course, interval training. It's nothing new, but it does get your heart rate up to burn more fat! I figure I can do this on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That along with teaching my aerobic class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus weights twice a week, should make a difference in three weeks. So if your having trouble reaching your resolutions you might try interval training.
You also might try my class on Tuesdays at 8:30 A.M. at Harwich Community Center and Thursdays at 9:30. Don't give up!

A LESSON IN HUMILITY!
My lesson in humility happened a few weeks ago when my husband stole my thunder at my BNI meeting. He got applause and everything! I was actually glad and pleased that he did get attention. It's good for him to be interacting and performing!
My second lesson came when I was not recognized for coming in third on the traffic light report! That was really hard, but I'm working on it and praying about it! So I was really in a mood dealing with Ronnie at Body Strong, but I pulled myself together.
Ron was having a hard time with his right leg because he hasn't exercised in a week due to a frozen pipe at the community center which put the weight room out of commission. Ron and his wife have since moved to N. Carolina. It was sad to see him go because we have worked together for six years, but I'm happy for them and it will be a nice place to visit in the winter next year.
My third lesson came from Mel at Epoch. He is a diabetic and lost half of his leg. He told me his grandson of only seventeen years, has cancer. His name is Trey and will be on my prayer list and hopefully many others.
So during this season of Lent, I'm learning to be humble and give more to others in prayer, works, and alms.
